CLAN would like to sincerely thank our friends at CARES Foundation (the CAH community in the USA) for generously agreeing to share FREE access to their upcoming webinar on Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia to CAH community members and friends in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs - as defined by the World Bank).

To be held on 7 November 2015 (8:30am - 5pm) at New York Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, talks on the webinar will include:

1) Introduction to CAH and Overview (Tiffany Schumaker, DO, Pediatric Endocrinology)

This talk will address the types of CAH, characteristics, diagnosis, management and treatment. 

2) Male Fertility in CAH (Oksana Lekarev, MD, Pediatric Endocrinology)

3) TART and male fertility (Dix Poppas, MD, Pediatric Urology) 

The talk will focus on the effects of CAH on male fertility and will describe possible causes of impaired fertility in this group of patients. The second part of the talk will focus on Testicular Adrenal Rest Tumors (TART), one of the main causes of infertility in men with CAH, and will address treatment options and fertility outcomes.

4) The Medicine of Exercise: Prescribing Movement to Promote Health  (Jordan Metzl, MD, Sports Medicine)

For patients of all ages, the medicine of exercise is the safest and most readily available drug in the world. How do we encourage administration, and how do we encourage patients of all ages to move? The talk will address ways to prescribe the medicine of exercise for patients of all ages.


5) Strategies for a Balanced Diet: Nutrition Guidelines for Patients Living with CAH (Laurie Block, RD, CDE, Nutrition)

A discussion about diet for those living with CAH. Topics to be addressed include specific dietary recommendations for children and adults, sodium recommendations, weight management strategies, and ways to create balanced meals for today’s lifestyles.
