Connecting children and families who are living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta in Vietnam

On Monday 14 November, CLAN will partner with the National Hospital of Pediatrics (NHP) in Hanoi, Children's Hospital Westmead (CHW in Sydney, Australia), Wishbone Day and other key partners to support the launch of Vietnam's Inaugural Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Club. There are about 120 children who present to NHP for management of OI, and this Club will bring them together as a community, and learn more from them about the best ways to ensure the children enjoy the highest quality of life possible.

CLAN is only starting to learn more about OI in Vietnam, but we are confident the same community development based actions taken for children living with other chronic health conditions in Vietnam will help children with OI to lead the highest quality of life possible. We are particularly excited to connect the Vietnamese OI Community with their broader neighbours internationally, thanks to the fantastic, joyous network of Wishbone Day. May 6 is Wishbone Day (International OI Awareness Day), and in 2012 we aim for the Vietnamese community to be a genuine part of this global celebration of life and love.
