Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong neurodivergence and disability. Autism is a spectrum; the word 'spectrum' is used because every child living with autism has different traits, support needs, and experiences. The autism spectrum does not represent a sliding scale of ‘mild’ to ‘severe’; it is a circle encompassing how different people experience autistic traits differently.
