Meet Chloe Iannitti: CLAN United Nations Youth Representative

My name is Chloe Iannitti, and I am a humanities student in Lehigh CAS (College of Arts and Sciences) with interests in English, Sociology, Global Studies, and WGSS (Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies), with a strong passion for language learning, travel, and advocacy..., with a strong passion for language learning, travel, and advocacy. Through my volunteer experience, I have witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects that limited resources have on underserved communities around the world. I live with chronic disease and recognize the privilege of living in a country with consistent and effective healthcare that allows me to thrive on a daily basis, unbound by my medical anomalies. The ability to live a fulfilling life with a non-communicable disease should not be dependent on where someone is born. Global frameworks recognize children’s health as a fundamental human right, but this is not reflected in practice. I am committed to advancing CLAN’s mission and advocating for equitable health care access through intentional conversation and meaningful partnership at both the global and local scale. On campus, I advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community as a Pride Center Student Staffer and a member of SPEAK. I have also launched initiatives such as Queer Lifting that empower and create space for marginalized communities. I believe that thinking through a multi-disciplinary perspective and maintaining curiosity will remain essential as I represent CLAN!
