69th NGO Commission on the Status of Women
On 19 March 2025, CLAN, @MATES4Kids, and Lehigh University will host a parallel event at the 69th Non-Governmental Organization Commission on the Status of Women (NGO CSW69). The event, titled "Showcasing the Power of Women in Childhood NCD Community Development," will take place from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm EDT (New York).

CLAN submitted a written statement for CSW69, supporting its mission for gender equity and highlighting the impact of childhood NCDs on women and girls. It advocates for universal health coverage, essential medicines, and newborn screening to reduce preventable deaths. Read the statement here!

We are excited to officially launch the 2023-2024 @MATES4Kids Activity Report at CSW69! The report highlights our progress in reducing preventable CAH mortality by 30% by 2030. It showcases achievements from our global network of champions, updates on our grant recipients, and tools to track progress. This report celebrates our work and calls for continued collaboration to address healthcare inequities for children with CAH and other chronic conditions

The priority theme of CSW69 is:
"The review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995) and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly (2000)."
The Beijing Declaration was adopted in 1995 at the 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing. The Beijing Declaration identified 12 critical areas where urgent action is needed to advance women's rights, including:
"The review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995) and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly (2000)."
