In 2018 CLAN has proud to provide Secretariat support and assist in the establishment of IndigenousNCDs (www.indigenousncds.org), an international movement promoting the voices of Indigenous peoples within the global NCDs discourse.

As part of the World Health Organisation’s series of testimonies on NCDs, LaVerne Bellear has spoken to her lived experience in Australia.
LaVerne is from the Bundjalung Nation (North Coast NSW) where she grew up in and around the Minjungbal region before moving to Sydney. She strongly believes in the empowerment of Aboriginal people to make better-informed decisions surrounding healthcare, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes.
LaVerne is the Chief Executive Officer of Aboriginal Medical Service Cooperative Limited, Redfern.
